Birmingham Restaurants and Bars That Have Closed, With Dates

A dated list of Birmingham restaurants, bars and cafes that closed since 2019, including the ones whose websites still look open.

It is no fun to plan a night around a place and find the door locked. This page lists 83 restaurants, bars and cafes in Birmingham, Homewood, Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills that closed from 2019 to today, with the date for each one.

We last updated this page on 15 October 2026. If a place is on this list, do not trust its website, its map pin or an old "best of" article.

Closed Birmingham restaurants whose websites still look open

These are closed. We opened each website ourselves on 11 October 2026, and this is what was still there.

RestaurantClosedWhat its website still says
5 Point Public House & Oyster Bar30 Jun 2023The site is live. It says to call for reservations and has a Resy link.
Highlands Bar & GrillMar 2020A banner says "We are temporarily closed," and the page still shows hours and a Resy link.
Post Office Pies29 Jun 2025Online takeout and an hours grid.
OceanOct 2026Takes reservations through Resy and OpenTable.
TrimTab Brewing Tasting Gallery4 Jul 2026Says "Our taproom is permanently closed as of July 4, 2026." The event-booking links still work.

TrimTab is the honest one. It tells you in plain words. The others leave the booking button in place.

Highlands Bar & Grill has not reopened. It closed "temporarily" in March 2020 and its own website still says it is temporarily closed. We found no report that it came back or that it closed for good. Plan as if it is closed.

Each place below shows signs of closing. We have no dated report, so we do not call any of them closed.

  • Marty's PM, the late-night room in Five Points South, founded in 1993. Its website sends visitors to an address that does not load. The Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau lists a Marty's Burger Bar in Irondale as its successor. We have not confirmed a closing date.
