Demetri's traces itself to El Rancho BBQ, which opened in 1961 a block from the current corner, and Demetri moved the pit to 28th Avenue South in 1973. It is a breakfast-and-barbecue room: chopped pork sandwiches and brisket El Rancho sit on the same menu as a BBQ pork omelet, griddle biscuits and Greek chicken filets, with a drive-thru that closes at 4:30pm and a Sunday brunch.
