Birmingham Rooftop Bars

Birmingham rooftop bars, from a 16-floor lounge on top of the Elyton Hotel to a rooftop patio that faces the skyline.

Birmingham rooftops sit on hotels and on top of a few restaurants. Five have a named source that calls them a rooftop.

Birmingham rooftop bars

  1. Moon Shine is on top of the Elyton Hotel, at 1928 1st Avenue North, 16 floors up in the 1909 Empire Building. It is an indoor-outdoor lounge for ages 21 and up, run by the hotel. Bham Now's rooftop guides name it the most recommended rooftop downtown (Help Us Check).
  2. The Roof at The Redmont is on the 14th floor of the Redmont Hotel, at 2101 5th Avenue North. Hilton calls it the highest rooftop bar in Alabama. Weekend hours run to 2 a.m. (Help Us Check).
  3. Mayawell, at 2900 4th Avenue South, pours more than 100 agave spirits. It is open to 12:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bham Now's rooftop guide counts it, and About Town named it a 2026 finalist for Best Place for a Girls' Night.
  4. Michael's Steak & Seafood, at 1525 1st Avenue South in Parkside, has a rooftop patio that faces the skyline. Michael Matsos founded it, and Bernadine Birdsong owns it.
  5. Habitat Feed & Social is at the Grand Bohemian Hotel, 2655 Lane Park Road, in Mountain Brook Village. Bham Now included it in its 2023 rooftop guide (Help Us Check).

Rooms marked Help Us Check have a source behind them but no dated 2026 report that they are open. Look at their newest posts before you go, and tell us what you find.

A roof is on this list only when a named source says the place has one. If we missed yours, tell us.
