The Rougaroux

Mountain Brook Village · Mountain Brook

Also listed in: Over 50 Birmingham

A kitschy, quirky room serving a taste of New Orleans in Mountain Brook Village ... gumbo, boudin and po'boys ... with a sister location in Forest Park. Village Living's August 2025 spotlight says co-owners Ed Stacey and Ryan Champion opened the Forest Park original in 2017 as a po'boy shop, and describes the Mountain Brook room as a casual 'coastal, seafood, dive, diner' atmosphere. The spotlight names shrimp, roast beef and oyster po'boys, a muffuletta, housemade boudin and a brisket burger; open Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday.
