Full Moon Bar-B-Que (Southside)
Full Moon is an Alabama-founded barbecue group celebrating forty years, and the Southside room on 25th Street South is the one Alabama Tourism's barbecue road trip names as the original. Pat James owned it at one point and brothers David and Joe Maluff bought it in 1996. The pits are hickory-fired, AL.com praised the hickory-smoked ribs and sliced pork sandwiches, chow-chow relish comes on the side, and the Half Moon cookies are the house dessert. The owners received the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association's Humanitarian of the Year award in 2023.
